BAG A BURGER

The Leo Club of Durbanville II hosted their first Official Project as a Club on the 24 May 2014.

The Saturday started off with Thunder, putting the project in jeapordy. However, the weather gods shown their favour upon us, keeping the rain away long enough to have completed the Project. The Leo Club invited the Leaders of the Local Primary School, Aristea Primary, and the Leos of Brackenfell. This Project was not only a clean up effort but also a Membership Drive for the Brackenfell Alpha Leo Club.

The 28 Durbanville Leos were enthusiastic and this rolled over onto the learners who came to do the clean up. The learners from the primary school with our leos, filled black bags with litter, with nearly each individual picking up an average of 3 bags.

While the Learners and Many Leos where picking up the Litter, the rest of us were making the Hamburgers for everyone. They cut and Buttered the Rolls while others Braai'ed the Patties in a Gas Braai (also known as a Skottle).

Everyone Received a Burger and a Cool Drink for their efforts. But more importantly they left knowing that they contributed towards their Community and Environment, while having fun, with food as a good incentive!
