Young people constitute a significant amount in the Guyanese population. Subsequently, their potential to contribute to a better society is more than relevant being the new generation. Our nation is suffering economically, creatively and civilly, since the circumstances that arise among the majority population of the country i.e. the youth of the nation, is negative. Empowering young people to participate in effective youth-adult partnerships is a proven replicable approach to providing some solution to these types of issues surrounding communities.

The Leo Club of Georgetown Stabroek (LCGS) started on March 11th, 2014 with 33 members. We are charted by the Lions Club of Georgetown Stabroek located in Guyana, South America. This wonderful Omega Leo club is for young adults between 18 and 30 years of age. Who wish to develop and practice leadership, organization and social skills through participation in Leo Club activities and service projects. Due to persons having personal responsibilities and busy schedules, attendance gradually reduced. As of June 2018, the club currently has 27 active members who are dedicated to developing the youths, protecting the environment, caring for the neglected and enacting social change.
