2018-2019 President: Helene Bergere

Job responsibilities: coordinating volunteer opportunities, Lions Clubs communications, conducting club meetings, webmaster

Helene is a Senior at Barstow and has been a member of the Barstow School Leo Club since her Freshman year. Previously, she has served as our club's vice-president. Helene has volunteered over 500+ hours through work with organizations such as Homestead Assisted Living and Youth Volunteer Corps of Greater Kansas City. 

Helene's favorite organization to volunteer with is Head for the Cure and their annual 5KWalks, which she has participated in for two years in a row! She loves going each year to see how much the support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness has grown and how much our support in Leo has expanded from year to year. She loves that our club volunteers all over Kansas City, working with the diverse Kansas City populace across all ages. Helene is so excited to lead the club for the 2018-2019 school year!

2018-2019 Vice-President: Hope Leathers

Job responsibilities: organization's donation requests,  logging members service activities, coordinating with the Barstow Booster Club

Hope is a Junior at Barstow and has been a member of the Barstow School Leo Club since her Sophomore year. Last year, she served as our club secretary. Hope has volunteered over 100 hours with different organizations around Kansas City such as Lazarus Ministries.

 

One of her favorite associations to volunteer at is the Lung Cancer Association in the KC area. She enjoyed supporting the volunteers through their climbing of 42 flight of stairs and raising money for such a good cause. She joined Leo to pursue more opportunities to volunteer for our community. Hope enjoys participating in Barstow's tennis team, as well. She is really excited to start her first year as a leading member of our group.
