Members

LEOs is a Community club aimed at the youth of today. We are for young people, just like you—active, social, hardworking, fun.

You can develop leadership skills, serve our community and, more than anything, have a great time!

Come meet new people, establish lasting connections with like-minded people, make a difference.

We welcome all the youths of today, so if you are between 12 and 30, come join our adventure!

WHY ‘LEADING FOR LIFE’?
LEOs stands for Leadership, Experience Opportunity, giving each and every one of its members an opportunity to belong, gain skills, and of course, HAVE FUN!

LEADERSHIP

Develop your skills as a project organiser, time manager and team leader.

In our club, each member has an chance to be a leader. Members take turns at organising Fun Nights, fundraising events, and any volunteering projects for the club.

Just recently, the GVK LEOs received their Charter, on the 22nd March 2012. It was a exciting day.

Each year, the club elects new a new board, consisting of a Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Previous year’s Vice President becomes the President of that year.

Our Charter President is Megan Hackwood, Charter Vice Alicia Pownell, Charter Secretary Eliza Miller and Charter Treasurer Visnu Schroder.

EXPERIENCE

Discover how teamwork and cooperation can bring exciting changes to your community and the world.

PAST PROJECTS
As a relatively new club, the GVK LEOs have only just begin to get into bigger projects.
On April 22nd, 2012, the Pride headed down to the Local Woolworths and put on a fundraising BBQ. By the end of the day, we had profited just over $300!
Only a matter of week before that, we lent a hand to our sponsoring Lions Club (GVK LIONS), to help fold brochures for the annual LEOs Youth Exchange program. From that, we were awarded $500!
All profits made by the GVK LEOs club goes back into the community.

FUTURE PROJECTS
We are always planning more and more projects, and 1 of which stands out most. Within the next couple of months, the GVK LEOs plan to start volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, helping around the place and talking to the kids.
One of our exciting plans to do with our funds is to sponsor a Lion through the World Wildlife Fund, we named him Leo. The GVK LEOs are really looking forward to  start putting our funds back into the community and world.

OPPORTUNITY

Establish lifelong connections and make new friends with fun, hardworking people while you feel the rewards of community service.

Members of Leos have many opportunities that they can partake in. Apart from becoming more in touch with their local community through various activities, they are able to contact fellow LEOs from around the world, state and district.
In March of this year, members of GVK LEOs Club    attended the Queensland State LEO's Conference where they took part in many activities focused around team building, brainstorming andOur LEOs won the skuling competition at their first ever Conference! interacting with fellow LEOs. Between creating fake countries, competitive three legged races and the camp fire, LEOs bonded and formed relationships as well as shared ideas for fundraising events and rewarding community services.
