History
In April 2013, Maddalena and Anthony Vani set out to organize the first Lions Club in Kleinburg, Ontario, which ended up taking the form of an Omega Leo Club - a youth branch of Lions Clubs International. The siblings started the project with two goals in mind: first, to foster connections between a group of young adults; people to call friends that can help each other out. Second, and most importantly, they felt the need to use the skills and talents of young adults for good and to help the impoverished gain the important values out of life: appreciation, belief in others, gratitude, and friendship. After meeting with Past District Governor of A-711, Bill Allison, Past-President of the Toronto Doctors Lions Club, Michael Sarin, and Leo Chair Christine Yeung, Maddalena and Anthony set out to recruit young Leos who would help build the foundation of the Kleinburg Leo Club. After finally being introduced to their Sponsoring Lion Club: The Toronto Trillium Lions Club, and Leo Advisor Alan Lo, the Kleinburg Leo Club officially became chartered on November 8, 2013. And celebrated its Charter Night shortly after on Friday, December, 6, 2013.
