Club Projects
As we reflect on 2020, it's hard to believe the impact we have made in our community. Despite all that we have accomplished, there have been ups and downs with figuring this out! We had a HUGE year and thought it would be good a idea to recap the projects. COVID-19 has been a huge challenge in giving back to the community but we managed to make it work.
Thank you to our VolunTeens and their families!
- Collected enough school supplies to fill 100 bookbags
- Kindness rocks, painted 200 rocks with inspiring words and phrases to donate to the Upper Chesapeake hospital
- Thanksgiving food drive, collected 1000 lbs of food to donate to Welcome One Emergency Center and Harford Community Action Agency
- Thanksgiving in a Box, collected enough food to fill 21 boxes for SARC
- Received the 20th Season Ravens Honors Row Award, then Received 70 tickets to a Ravens game against the New England Patriots
- The Giving Tree collected over 100 pairs of hats and gloves to decorate a tree for the Festival of trees, it was then showcased and sold with the proceeds going to Chesapeake Cancer Society. The tree was then donated to Harford Family House along with the hats and gloves
- Partnered with Harford Chabad to make 300 travel magnetic menorahs for Hanukkah
- Working with Harford County Therapeutic Recreation adaptive sports for an ongoing basketball clinic
- Completed our first Volun-Teenie project, made and distributed 100 dozen cookies to Harford County First Responders
- Donated 50 stockings to Anna’s House
- Created and collected 843 cards from various Harford and Baltimore County Schools to send to Soldiers in Afghanistan
- Worked with Anna’s House for their annual Santas Breakfast where we served food and gave presents to Children & Families in need
- Completed our First Annual Spare Change Drive-We donated $4,000 in change to Jonhns Hopkins Childrens Unversity
- Completed Bags of Love for Meals on Wheels members in our local community.
- Made 30 Casseroles for the families living at Harford Family House
- Partnered with various local highschools to make 1,080 Valentine Cards for the kids at St. Jude Childrens Hospital
- Partner with Welcome One Emergency Shelter on a Quarterly Basis to serve and cook food for the homeless.
- Since Quarantine started, we have completed the following projects:
- Conducted an emergency food drive for the kids in harford county who receive free & reduced breakfast and lunch at school.
- By soliciting donations, hosting teen trivia night, and collecting money from the bunco, we collected $3,270 for the Amanda Hichkad walk.
- We made notes for “My Sisters Place” through catholic charities.
- We adopted a grandparent by becoming pen pals with elderly people at Lorien Nursing home.
- We made a video of hope, for 25 nursing homes within the county.
- We did a life saver project for employees at Upper Chesapeake.
- We donated 100 lifesaver bags to Shop Rite employees.
- We donated bags full of stuff to crossroads transitional housing.
- Collected 6,925 pairs of shoes for Entrepreneurs in developing coutries.
- Worked on a Treehouse at Bears Legacy Trail.
We look forward to serving our community even more.
